Michelle Chu – Principal Designer

After earning a Communications/Sociology undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and giving birth to two daughters, Michelle was inspired by a chance encounter with Sim Van der Ryn, who recommended she consider enrolling in the post-graduate Interior Design & Interior Architecture program at UC Berkeley Extension. There, she honed her design skills and developed a deeper understanding of the principles of architecture, art, and interior aesthetics. Achieved in 2011, she has maintained her certification as a California Certified Interior Designer (CID #6646).

For over a decade, Michelle has successfully completed a diverse range of projects, from residential new construction to extensive remodels, detailing interior spaces and collaborating with architects, builders, and artisans — working with clients to bring a more dynamic and meaningful vision of home.
